How to tune a guitar in DADGAD
DADGAD (D–A–D–G–A–D) is a suspended, modal tuning loved in Celtic, folk and fingerstyle music: open strings ring like a drone under melodies.

Step by step
- Allow microphone access when your browser asks (audio stays on your device).
- Play one note and let it ring. The tuner detects which string or note you are playing.
- Follow the needle: left means flat (tighten / raise), right means sharp (loosen / lower).
- When the note turns green you are within ±3 cents. Move on to the next one.
Pro tip
From standard, lower strings 1, 2 and 6 a whole step.
